We Love Isabela!
February 26, 2024 Monday
We were greeted at the dock by LOTS of marine iguanas... The kind that can swim! They were fierce-looking creatures, but didn't seem to mind having is around not one little bit!
The small town Puerto Villamil on Isla Isabela was a lovely little place and had that feel of having not yet been discovered. Most of the roads were sand with old thick lines being used as speed bumps. The town sat next to a long white-sand beach where only a few people were admiring its view. The buildings were old but in decent shape. There were many touring businesses, and small restaurants and bars, but surprisingly few gift shops. Definitely, a “throw-back” kind of place.
