Getting Ready in Santa Cruz
March 5, 2024 Tuesday
We left our beloved Isla Isabela last Friday and made it to Puerto Ayoro, Santa Cruz in about 9 hours. Our time in San Cristobal and Isabela had felt like a vacation to us, but in Santa Cruz we needed to get ready for our big passage to French Polynesia.
This is the capital of the Galapagos, the “big city”. Since this is where all the baby cruise ships depart from, the main street along the water is built for the tourists. Lots of souvenir shops, tour guides and small restaurants could be found there. It was a busy place, and a good stop for us to get our diesel tanks full, our laundry done, and to do all that last-minute shopping (especially for blue-footed booby earrings!) Also had fun catching up with our W-ARC friends! Everyone is getting excited about the upcoming passage!
